Medication Disclosure

Day Of

  • Inform your esthetician of any antibiotics, blood thinners, or new medications you have started taking, as these can affect skin sensitivity.

The First 24-48 Hours are Critical

  1. Avoid Direct Sun Exposure: This is the most important step. Treated skin is highly sensitive. Wear SPF 30+ daily and reapply every two hours, even indoors. Wear a wide-brimmed hat if going outside.

  2. Avoid Heat: Do not engage in activities that cause excessive sweating or expose the skin to high heat, such as saunas, hot tubs, intense workouts, or steam rooms. This can cause inflammation and pigmentation.

  3. Use Only Gentle Products: Use only the post-care products recommended by your esthetician. Avoid all active ingredients, scrubs, manual exfoliation, and harsh cleansers. Use cool water to wash your face.

  4. Hands Off: Do not pick, peel, or scratch the treated area. This is the primary cause of scarring and infection.

  5. Hydration: Keep the treated area clean, calm, and hydrated.

  6. Makeup: Avoid applying heavy makeup for at least 24 hours, especially if the skin barrier was broken (e.g., microneedling, deep exfoliation).
